Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry Identifies Influenza A H3N2 Cases in Osh
In Osh city, located in the southern part of Kyrgyzstan, cases of Influenza A H3N2 have been identified, as reported by the Health Ministry on Tuesday. The ministry’s Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Department disclosed that laboratory tests confirmed the presence of influenza A H3N2 in several patients in the city.
The ministry clarified that this disease is seasonal and is recorded annually in the country. Additionally, laboratory results have indicated various acute respiratory viral infections in Kyrgyzstan, including parainfluenza, bocavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, seasonal coronavirus, adenovirus, and metapneumovirus. However, the epidemiological situation in the capital city, Bishkek, is stable.
In the past week alone, Kyrgyzstan has reported 5,737 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and flu. Notably, 67.2 percent of the affected individuals are children under the age of 14, amounting to a total of 3,858 cases.
